The Material Balance Specialist is responsible for the gain/loss balances on Enterprise storage or plant assets at Mont Belvieu/Houston region.  This position reconciles the material balance meter data and resolves product header imbalance problems and meter issues.  The Material Balance Specialist interfaces with Engineering, Operations, Distribution, Laboratory, External Customers, and Measurement personnel with duties to include but are not limited to:

 

 

·         Performing daily balancing functions for assigned assets, facilities and pipelines.

·         Responsible for certifying the meter inputs into the balances are correct.

·         Ensuring daily product movement tickets are created in a timely and accurate manner for assets assigned.

·         Understanding and performing the gain/loss balances on the assets assigned.

·         Working as part of a team to research and investigate measurement imbalance issues.

·         Issuing balancing reports in a timely manner and reviewing for accuracy.

·         Performing the monthly closing duties within the prescribed time frame, such as ensuring the completion of all monthly tickets, resolving any outstanding issues.

·         Interacting with external and internal customers and make decisions based on those interactions.

·         Keeping supervisor informed of any unresolved issues throughout the month.

·         Cross-training on other Liquid Balancing Specialists' job duties.

·         Communicating with Measurement and Lab personnel about meter and lab analysis problems.

 

 

 

  



Requirements

    The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

·        Covid vaccine required

·         High school diploma or GED is required.

·         College degree in Engineering, Business, Accounting, or Economics is preferred.

·         At least 3 or more years of experience in Liquid Measurement or Plant/Pipeline balancing is preferred.

·         Must be computer literate to work in the Material Balancing Systems.

·         Deep understanding and knowledge in Microsoft Excel to manipulate data for analysis and research.

·         Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills.

·         Must have an aptitude for analyzing data and recognizing abnormal balance conditions.

·         Must have good communication skills to work with Supervision and field Operations.

·         Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.
