Our services include: natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage and import and export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage and terminals; petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage and terminals; and a marine transportation business that operates primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems. The partnership's assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.
The Commercial Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Reporting
- Develop mechanism to track and report historical and current volume and revenue
- Support all aspects of monthly Profit/Loss review including the ability to drill down on every cost and revenue element to determine the source detail. Interface with other operational and support that impact the overall profitability of the business unit.
- Support regular reporting requirements for business unit including Weekly Terminal Summary Report and Budget Summary Report.
- Support development of operating data book to include maps, tariffs (affiliated and 3rd party), and terminal fact sheets.
- Revenue history for each customer.
- Prepare yearly budgets by coordinating input from operations, commercial, and marketing groups.
- Update and run yearly budget model for various terminal segments.
- Update forecasting model for periodic updates reporting financial performance and changes in short term expectations.
- Analyze and prepare monthly financial data for management.
- Monitor and track financial performance, perform detailed variance analysis on a monthly basis.
- Analyze industry data trends including degree days, EIA data, and supply/demand forecasts.
- Model and analyze profitability of terminals.
- Support the development of the annual strategic financial plan.
- Interface with Revenue Accounting, Commercial, and Operations groups and serve as primary contact for accounting issues.
- Provide decision support on system utilization and optimization.
- Responsible for understanding key process aspects within the organization.
- The person holding a Commercial Analyst position is also expected to grow within the commercial side of Enterprise's business in order to expand the individual's contribution opportunities within the organization and, within not more than 2 to 3 years, open positions permitting, to advance into a Commercial Representative position.
Requirements
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree is required. A degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or other related discipline is preferred.
- Understanding of refined products, crude oil, or NGL pipeline, storage and terminalling industry is preferred.
- A minimum of 1 experience in engineering, accounting, or marketing analysis is preferred.
- Knowledge of Hyperion Planning and Essbase is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically MS Excel and MS PowerPoint is required.
- Work experience demonstrating strong analytical and interpersonal skills is important.
- Ability to thrive in a fast pace team environment.
- Superior written and presentation skills, including the ability to prepare concise, informative and convincing presentations and position papers on complex commercial topics is very important.
- Working knowledge of Excel modeling to forecast supply/demand trends is required.
- Ability to analyze data and present findings is required.
- Experience in evaluation and analysis is preferred.
- A good understanding of basic Accounting principles is preferred.
- Ability to multitask and demonstrate a common sense approach to problem solving.
- Effective written and oral communication skills with internal and external customers at all levels within the organization.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and effective time management skills to develop knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill job responsibilities in an independent and thorough manner.
- Ability to develop good working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically is required.
